The Types Of Hajj

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

“In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”

There are three types of hajj:

1. Qiraan: One enters the state of ihraam with the intention of performing umrah & hajj with one ihraam.

• In this case one will not shave or trim the hair after the Sa’ee of Umrah.

2. Tammattu: One enters the state of ihraam with the intention of umrah only. After completing the umrah they will come out of ihraam & enter the state of ihraam again on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah.

3. Ifraad: One enters the state of ihraam with the intention of hajj only.

Tawaf-e-Qudoom

Tawaf-e-Qudoom is Sunnah upon the non-residents of Makkah who come from abroad if they are performing Ifraad or Qiraan Hajj. It is not Sunnah upon a person performing Tamattu. Furthermore, people residing in Makkah and performing Hajj will not perform Tawaaf-e-Qudoom.
